So today is a busy Saturday. I decided to do my blog today vs doing it on Sunday so I can get a few more outside projects done this weekend. As always I speak about music, as I am a musician and I love listening to artists and genres that I do not regularly listen to.
Today is no different and I decided to listen to ‘Yacht Rock.’ It’s one of those days that I thought while I’m doing my blog I would go back to the 70’s and early 80’s and listen to people like Christopher Cross, Player and George Benson. There are so many great artists that can fall into this category but a lot of one-hit-wonders.
It’s a strange thing as I listen to these songs…I know most of all of the words and it transports me back to a much simpler time. Yes, all I had to worry about was school, getting good grades and making sure I got home on time when my parents let me go out and play.
It hit me today that I and many others my age are looking to rest and relax after the past 4 years and the pressure of what is going on in the world today.
I have never used a travel agent to book a vacation. When I went to England to go to Liverpool (* a great Beatles pilgrimage) and London; my trip to Cancun and my travel across America – I always booked things myself. I learned a lot from friends and lovers what to make sure you need do when you travel. Travel insurance, how to efficiently pack to get the most in your carry-on, etc.
I’m older now! I don’t work on my own cars because I am not a mechanic. I get really good food out because I am not a great cook. I don’t paint my walls because my patience is very low. Having someone book a trip and take the responsibility to do that? Heck yes.
